Brand New Butterflies

Hey space turtles! Another Glam Nails Challenge look to share today - as you may have guessed the theme for this one is butterflies. I have a layered images butterfly stamping plate (Paradise 07) from Mo You London I've been meaning to try for a while so was pleased to finally use it for this look.

I started with a pale lilac base and then some silver glitter, followed by more silver glitter (colours listed below). I then added a glossy top coat which also has a hint of purple to it so between that and the base colour it gave the silver a bit of a lilac look. Next I added the butterfly images from the stamping plate, layering them up from dark to light before adding another layer of top coat. The pink one didn't really go to plan and I tried a few different colours but otherwise I really like this look. My favourites are the green butterfly and the one on my thumb nail.

All the jingle ladies, all the jingle ladies!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way! This nail art is for yesterday's Glam Nails Challenge project which was jingle bells. I couldn't resist getting Beyonce in my head on a loop again with some 'all the jingle ladies' nails! I did these over the top of my Holo Taco Christmas swatches from my last post. The bell reverse stamping images are from Uber Chic's Happy Christmas plate. You may notice I have accidently placed one of the images the wrong way round! The jingle ladies writing is from Mo You London's Noel 10 stamping plate. This is a short blog post but there's not much more to add really! I have many Christmas nail art ideas to squeeze in before Christmas as always!

Colours used: Naughty List, Everything Is Pine, Plumb Luck, Gold Play Button, Choco Holo, Black Holo Wish - All Holo Taco, Black Stamping Polish - Dance Legend, Silver Foil Effect - Barry M

A Mysterious Sparkly Ocean of Nail Polish!

Hi nail people! I have a new nail polish and a new stamping plate to share today. The base colour I've used is Emily de Molly's The Glaring, which I recently purchased even though I have sooo many blues! I just couldn't resist the glitter and I'm glad as it's a gorgeous polish! Emily de Molly really do make some spectacular polishes - I particularly loves ones with a bit of depth. This one was a little on the thick side but only as it's so packed with sparkle! I used two coats here and got really good coverage.

As above I started with two coats of my base colour/glitter. Once dry I used images from Mo You London's Atlantis 04 for a sort of mystical under the sea look! I was so excited to get this plate as I love under the sea things and it was so perfectly fitted to the abstract trend but with perfect ocean vibes. I feel like there so much I can do with it. In this instance it was mostly just a bit of layering and adding some stars and moons around the other images.

I think this glitter is perfect for an ocean look and I adore both this nail polish and the stamping plate. I do wonder if maybe they distract from each other a bit and would be better appreciated separately, but I'm pretty pleased with this look!

Flutterby's In The Spring

Hey! I'm back today with the second Glam Nails Challenge prompt for this month which is butterfly's. I have a butterfly stamping plate and a whole host of great butterfly wing colours so knew what to do with this one! The two Starrily base colours are new and were gifts from my partner so I couldn't wait to try them out. The colours used are listed below the pictures as usual.

After starting with my base colours and using the blue as an accent for the thumb and ring finger, I created decals on my Uber Mat, you can see how here. In the meantime I used black stamping polish to apply the butterfly and butterfly wing images to my thumb, ring finger and little fingernails (all images from Mo You London's Kitty 12 stamping plate). I love seeing the gorgeous Starrily colour shining through! For the decals I did have a slight issue with my middle finger in that I stuck it on the wrong way round! Having done this so many times I'm not sure how I managed that to be honest! It makes it harder to stick down and not look as neat. I'm hoping it's the kind of thing only I'd notice unless I mention it, though it's not like many people are seeing my nails at the moment anyway!

In conclusion - I adore these base colours, especially the blue accent, they are perfect for Spring, super shimmery and really pretty. I think they make a great base for butterfly nails. The look could have been a little neater if I hadn't messed up the middle finger but overall I'm pleased with it!

Colours used: Indigo Child - Starrily, Headless Horseman - Starrily, Black Stamping Polish - Dance Legend, Cosmic Girl - Danglefoot Polish

A Cactus Glitter Explosion!

Finally getting round to sharing my holiday nails! A week ago yesterday we got back from our two week trip to Canada and the US. We travelled flew to Toronto and travelled from there to New York, stopping at many places on the way. We squeezed a lot in so though amazing, it was also quite tiring! I feel like I've fully recovered from the jet lag now, though I wouldn't say no to a three day weekend just to be sure!

So this is the nail art I had on for that full two weeks. I wanted something that would last well, and as chunky glitter is so hard to get off I thought that would do the trick - and indeed it is! I was intending to go for a bit of a negative space look, with sheer pale pink under the glitter, as any chips would then be less obvious, but I did go a tad overboard with the glitter so it was reasonably solid.

For the cacti I used the Uber Chic Succulents and Mo You London Hipster 18 plates and created decals using the advanced stamping technique (you can see how here). It took a while as I created a lot of decals (most of the cactus images have been separated as decals so I could place them side by side on my nails, showing in different positions than they were on the stamping plate). I was inspired by someone on Instagram for this nail art but I can't remember who! They definitely went more subtle with the glitter! I was fairly pleased with these and enjoyed being super sparkly, I was pleasantly surprised by how long they lasted too, only one chip in two weeks!
