Dino Mountain Nights

Hey space turtles! I've had Mo You London's Jurassic Park 04 stamping plate sitting around for a while now and somehow haven't used it yet. Now is finally the time and I'm pleased to finally be creating dinosaur landscape nail art!

I started with a base of blue and then added the silver stars from Mo You London's Sci Fi 10 stamping plate. I then chose the base layer mountain image for each nail and added them in white to create a background for the purple polishes and stop them blending into the blue. I then added a later of light purple over the top, and a final mountain image on each nail in dark purple. I finally added a dinosaur in black to each nail and finished with a glossy topcoat. I'm enjoying the colour scheme of these, the landscape effect and the fact that there's a dino on each nail - so a winner all round!

Whaley Big Mountains

Hey everyone! More Glam Nails Challenge nail art to share with you today. The theme for this one was whales. I wanted to do something a bit different to the last whale nails I did (which I loved!) for some variety and went for a night sky vibe. Stamping plates used were Mo You London's Sailor 18 and Atlantis 02.

I started with two coats of dark blue jelly polish and while it was drying made some decals on my Uber Mat of whales and mountains, you can see how here. I then added some stars and moons in silver and a rippling water image in light blue. Once dry I added the decals over the top, and added a whale nail in the water on my ring fingernail. I finished the look with a glossy top coat, and then tried matte. I love matte looks but I think I like this best glossy.

I am pleased with the look in some ways however it came out a lot darker than planned. The base polish runs a but which doesn't help. It made the stars look purple and the images blend into the background even more. The pictures are under good lighting but in some lighting it's hard to see the design.

Northern Polar Bear Lights!

Hi there! Another Glam Nails Challenge prompt today, this time it's polar bears. This cute little polar bear in a jumper image sprung to mind and I thought that would work well with a Northern Lights look. I was super excited to try out Cirque Colors Mood Ring for this look and I absolutely LOVE it! The shimmer and shift especially under bright lights is incredible! I didn't get quite as clean lines as I intended but I think it still works well.

I started with a layer of magnetic polish, followed by another which I used the magnet on to get the shifty effect. I then created a little polar bear decal on my Uber Mat, you can see how here. Whilst this dried I used star and moon images from Mo You London's Noel 06 stamping plate to create a night sky look. The polar bear is from their Noel 03 stamping plate. I finished the look with a glossy quick dry top coat.

So I love this one! I adore the base polish, and I think the simplicity of the look works well. It has depth from the magnetic polish and the little polar bear and stars make it a whole scene. I love Northern Lights things and cute things and wintery things - so this is a winner for me!

A Dark Sky in the Country Nails

Hey everyone! One more autumn nail look before I move onto the Halloween nail art - OooOOooh! This look was inspired by the Lake District in the UK and the countryside at night. I did make a bit of a blunder with this one, as I will explain, but they definitely grew on me!

I started with a base of vibrant blue (a pretty fun start in my humble opinion!) and then made decals using my Uber Mat (see how here). I used the Fall In Love 10 plate from Mo You London (same plate as my last design), which has so many wonderful autumn and generally nature themed images. On the website they have created this look with some blue polishes and I love it so thought I'd create something similar with slightly different shades of blue. I did slip up by leaving the black stars and moons in my decals. I meant to take them out and add them to my nails in yellow. I thought I'd correct it after but couldn't as the decals are placed on my nails with the images in reverse, so stamping over the top on my nails the positioning would be all wrong! I could have made more decals but didn't have time.

So to start off these felt like a bit of a flop but as time went on and the vibrant colours kept catching my eye I've grown to rather like them! I also do really love these images!

A Shimmering Pastel Forest

Hello all - I'm back again already, I'm on a roll! Today the nail art I'm sharing is inspired by gabys_nails on Instagram. It's from quite a while ago but has been sitting on my nail art to do list! Mine came out a lot more yellow than hers, and more yellow than I'd intended, but I still like it! I like the pastel take on a forest at night time look so thought I'd give it a go.

I started with 'smoosh' nail art for the base, which involved dabbing nail polish of a few different colours on a stamper, and dabbing it onto my nails. I put the yellow on first which is probably why it came out so strong! I then used purple nail polish and the Noel 06 stamping plate from Mo You London to add the trees. Next up I added a few stars and moons using the same plate, and then a coat of Scattered Holo Taco. I was so impressed with the scattered holo, it's so perfect and even better than what I had hoped for! My boyfriend said it looked like snow, which definitely inspired me to use it on some winter or Christmas designs later in the year.
