I do like to be beside the seaside

Hello again space turts! More nautical nails today for the next Glam Nails Challenge prompt on Instagram. Todays theme is Nautical. I went for some classic primary colours as my base and of course stripes as I couldn't do a nautical look without stripes!

I started with two layers of each base colour and once dry added white stripes from the Mo You London Tropical 34 stamping plate to all nails. I then used their Sailor 01 stamping plate for the other sea themed images I added over the top in black.I place the shell a bit off centre on my thumbnail so decided to add a bit of starfish so there was less empty space. I finished the look with a matte top coat.

This look was very much a make it up as you go along kind of look but pleased with how it came out. I think it's fun and I love an ocean/nautical theme as you may have noticed!

Lemony Fresh Nails

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the fruit nail blog! (that's how it feels this month!) Today's glam nails challenge prompt is lemons, and this is my attempt. The stamping plates I used for this look are the Fruit Deco plate from Maniology, and Tropical 34 from Mo You London.

I started with a base of white polish (colours listed below the pictures), and then created decals for the stripy nails, using my Uber Mat. It was surprisingly satisfying filling the stripes in with my little nail art brush. While the decals where drying I did the stamping on my other nails, all of which involved layered stamping, where I stamped the yellow on first, then the green, and finally the black outline. I struggled a bit with the Maniology images on this occasion, I couldn't get the green right so you can't really see it. May be something to do with going for a run half way through doing my nails and getting a bit tired!

So overall I quite like these, they're fun, but would definitely be better if I'd mastered the Maniology lemons. I did master them previously on another look which you can see here. I also did some freehand lemons aages ago which I'm still quite proud of! You can see them here. So this nail art is not my best lemon art but I still like it!

Cirque Colors Vice 2019 Stripes

Hello nail world! Today I bring you neon! Lots and lots of blindingly fun neon, courtesy of Cirque Colors Vice 2019 collection. This is the first time I have bought some of the Cirque Vice neons, and I got the whole 2019 set. This isn't the first time I've worn them, you can see most of them on my hen do nails here. But this look shows off their brightness I think.

Now I can't really take credit for the idea, as I was inspired by @rendxnails on Instagram, but I did paint it myself freehand so that's something! Sadly mine are not as neat as hers but I'm still pleased with it, the neon keeps catching my eye and I've been complemented on them quite a bit.

To do this nail art I used a small nail brush, and painted a line on each nail in red, then coral, then yellow/green and so on. I'm used to doing advanced stamping where most of the reason the nail art takes so long it all the drying time, so it did feel odd to spend nearly an hour solidly painting my nails! When I got half way through I was having second thoughts about whether it was a good idea! As I went through each colour I think I improved my painting technique slightly. I have to say it's lucky they are such good strong one coat colours, as I didn't fancy doing another coat!
