Let It Snowww

... but let it wait till I've stopped commuting to London! Today's snow nail art is for one of this months Glam Nails Challenge prompts. I decided to try out a new sparkly reflective polish I got for Christmas and thought it would be just right to go with snowflakes. I started with a peel of base and then two layers of glitter. I had many snowflake stamping plate images to choose from and settled on the Noel 20 plate from Mo You London for the multi snowflake image and for the individual ones I used their Festive 02 plate. I added the images using white stamping polish after a 'glitter grabber' layer of clear polish. I then used a dotting tool to add some more snow and finished the look with a quick dry top coat.

Below you can see the look with and without flash. I love the colour and the sparkly effect. These were simple to do and I really like them. In particular the index finger and little fingernail. Really loving doing some more wintery designs!

Easter Monday - Chocolate Egg Nails

More Easter nails! I wasn't 100% sure on the wonky egg nails I blogged about yesterday, so have done some more! I had a lovely chilled Sunday morning doing nail art and creating an enormous spreadsheet of my nail polish (yes, it's got to that stage!). I've logged about 120 so far, it's going to take a lonngg time.

Usually I go for more pastely colours at Easter but loved the foil effect of these new metallic's from ILNP, and I think they make good Easter egg foil. So this design is basically like a close up of yesterdays, with the Easter eggs opened a little, I guess it's a depiction of the Easter weekend!

After applying my base coat I put some wide zig-zag stencils on my nails, and applied the metallic polish, before removing them. Once it had dried a bit I carefully added another layer, and then painted the ends in chocolate brown. Once dry, I added some spots using a dotting tool, and another layer of brown. I was just about done but my boyfriend suggested maybe I should add a little silver to make it look like the foil is peeling back. I'm so pleased he did as I think that makes it! Finally, I applied a top coat, and then  added some matte top coat over the brown part, as I wasn't sure how I felt about shiny chocolate...

Valentines Day Nails 2018 - Lobsters Again!

So the title of this is a bit of a spoiler... but I just felt the need to try and get my nails to come up in searches for lobster, don't ask why, I don't know either! I don't usually go in for the whole hearts and flowers and pink stuff vibe so valentines isn't my favourite nail art season, but I usually do one token valentines nail art per year! A few years ago I did lobster and heart nails using one of my Mo You London cooking themed stamping plates, and I loved them so much I couldn't resist doing more lobsters, this time free-hand.

I used a dotting tool to create outlines of the shapes in red polish, and then filled them in with more dots. I will definitely try this technique again. It's easier than just painting! The hearts were easier as they're a simple shape and I could add more to the outline if it wasn't quite right.

That's all for today. Lobsters and love to all!

A Spot Of Polish

Today I'm showing off one of my favourite Nails Inc shades. It's nothing new, just think it deserves some appreciation! With the below nail art I'm using Nails Inc's Warwick Way, a lovely deep teal-y green.

On my middle finger I have used one of Topshops matte metallics (love love love them!), and on my ring finger I used these colours over a white base with a dotting tool. Altogether a very simple design, but nice and bright and perfect for this time of year.

Throwback Thursday: Trees and Dots

Today's' throwback is obviously from a shorter nail moment for me! I've just given them a trim this evening as they were getting very talon like again. This month I think there will be a great variety of nails lengths in my posts!

I think this design is quite modern, I took inspiration from Pinterest, and wanted to use a new sparkly green I'd got. They make me think of wrapping paper. They are possibly not quite as christmassy as I'd intended but I like the final effect. My favourite nail is of course the accent nail with the little tree and star. This was stuck on with regular nail polish as I find it's surprisingly adhesive!

Summer Pastel Gradient

A simple summer design that's very easy to do! I used some plain sponges for the gradient (from shoe boxes at my old job!) but would recomend using proper ones as the shoe sponges can be a bit gappy. The dots over the top were done with white polish and dotting tools (can be found on ebay for a very reasonable price).

Finished with the best evverr top coat, Nails Inc's Kensington Caviar! Quick dring and super shiny. Not much else to say on this one, I'm tempted to try it in lots of other colours.
